Gift Ideas for Any Angler

We’ve compiled a list of some of our favorite things that may help in finding the perfect gift for your favorite angler!

Plano Atlas Tackle Pack and Plano Z-Series Waterproof Backpack

Tackle Storage: There are so many options when it comes to tackle storage, especially for the wide variety of artificial baits on the market. We focus on finding ways to improve our tackle organization while also choosing solutions that serve multiple functions. We recently returned from an international trip where we needed to minimize the amount of gear we took with us. We chose the Plano Atlas Tackle Pack and the Plano Z-Series Waterproof Backpack to serve as our carry-on luggage for our flights and as our tackle bags for our fishing excursions. Both bags are lightweight and provide waterproof features to protect our gear while we are on the water, and they meet airline requirements for carry-on bags.

Clothing: It is very important to protect your skin while outdoors while also wearing clothes that are lightweight in the summertime heat. We love our Gillz Pro Series Hoodie UV shirts, and we keep one in nearly every color. These shirts are made with GILLTEC fabric, offering 50+UV protection from the sun, has built-on mesh mask and hoodie, and thumbholes to even help provide some cover for your hands. The fabric is extremely breathable, and comfortable for a full day of fishing!

Stanley Classic Stay Hot French Press

Hydration: We never go out fishing without making sure we have enough water to keep us well-hydrated, and our Stanley water bottles have never let us down!  But when we need a little something stronger and caffeinated, we pull out our Stanley Classic Stay Hot French Press. We get about 4 cups of hot, delicious coffee whether we’re at home or on the go, and it’s durable enough to take with us when we’re on the road. Follow this link to browse all of Stanley’s products, including this fantastic French Press!

Penn Authority Reel

Saltwater Reel: We love saltwater fishing, but it can hard on your gear! We are always looking for upgrades to our saltwater reels, and the new Penn Authority Reel is impressive, being recognized as the best saltwater reel at ICAST in 2022. It is completely sealed to prevent water from reaching the internal components, even while completely submerged. It comes in nearly every size and gear ratio imaginable, making it an ideal reel for any saltwater situation.

Bending Branches Angler Pro Versa-Lok in Glowtek

On the Water: It’s no secret that we are passionate about kayak fishing, and our favorite fishing kayaks come from Native Watercraft, located in Fletcher, North Carolina. They have a wide range of rotomolded boats engineered to get us to our favorite fishing spots. They invented the Propel Pedal Drive system, which offers hands-free forward-to-reverse, and there is a boat to fit almost every budget and need. When we’re in areas where we can’t use our Propel Pedal Drive, we use paddles from Bending Branches, who have been making paddles for kayaks and canoes for over 40 years in Wisconsin. Their Angler Pro Versa-Lok paddle is adjustable, lightweight, and durable and moves us through the water quickly. We never get on the water without a personal flotation device, and Mustang Survival provides some of the best PFDs around. They supply survival gear for the US Navy Seals, NASA, and Coast Guard, which makes us feel confident when we’re on the water.

Anytime Gifts: There are so many little things that we always keep on hand or take with us on every fishing trip. Items that are used so often tend to get lost or wear out over time, so these are always welcome gifts. We keep a Petzel headlamp in our dry bag in case we stay out after dark, and it comes in handy as an emergency signal if needed. And every angler always needs a good set of pliers and scissors, and we like Ugly Stik’s Multi Tool. It is a great all-in-one tool including split ring pliers, mini-scissors, crimping tool, jig eye cleaner, and hook sharpener. These features, in addition to standard multi-tool components like knives and screwdrivers, make this essential to take with us nearly everywhere we go.

We hope you find this helpful in coming up with gift ideas for the fisherman or fisherwoman in your life! Tight lines!
